Spectrum ArtWorks has meant a lot to a variety of people...
Spectrum Artworks saved my life. There is no question about it. If I did not have this place to go to I don't know where I would be today. I also believe I would be on more medication and would probably have more hospital stays if it were not for the lighthouse and Spectrum Artworks. It gives me a place where I belong. Where I can thrive and get support when I need it.  I have always done art but it has been a lonely thing to do. To find a place where I can do art with others is a dream come true. Not only do I share art with others at Spectrum but also I get to share my struggles with mental illness with others who have been there. To top all of that off this program has given me hope in a way that I have never experienced before in my life. I actually see the potential for a future that isn't mired in extreme poverty, threats of homelessness, inability to buy food and a life of ostracization, but rather I see the chance at a future of economic stability, friendship, acceptance and FUN.  - R.L.

Spectrum ArtWorks taught me a clear perception of humanity along with how art and creativity can define who you are as a person. I also learned about people, kindness, patience, self control, empathy towards others, and commitment.  - K.

Spectrum ArtWorks is like a home away from home. I am free to be me. I am free to draw and paint and use my talent as an artist to help others. I like the people here and my art teachers have helped me grow as a person and as an artist.  - J.E.S.
